The SLHS is organized as a decentralized national information and service infrastructure, which involves a network of stakeholders and seven universities and universities of applied sciences. The core activities of the SLHS are guided and coordinated by the Strategic Council and the Operational Unit, which is situated at the Department of Health Sciences and Health Policy at the University of Lucerne.
The Strategic Council comprises representatives of each of the participating academic institutions and representatives of national partner institutions. In general, the Strategic Council develops and guides the activities of the SLHS. Specifically, the Strategic Council is among others responsible for the supervision of the SLHS mechanisms, for the prioritization of the topics and projects, contribution to the development of the PhD program curriculum.
The Operational Unit is hosted by the Department of Health Sciences and Health Policy at the University of Lucerne. The Operational Unit coordinates the activities and programs of the SLHS. This includes, among others, the coordination of the calls for evidence syntheses, policy briefs and stakeholder dialogues. The organization of PhD courses and the coordination of the development of the health information management tools. The Operational Unit further monitors and evaluates the overall project outcomes.
