Impulse event of the National Research Program NRP 74 "Smarter Health Care"
Rising aging and increasing morbidity represent current and future challenges in the Swiss healthcare system. In 2015, the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) was commissioned by the Federal Council to implement the National Research Program NRP 74 "Health Care". The main objective was to study and analyze healthcare in Switzerland in more detail in order to improve quality. The focus was on the prevention and treatment of patients with chronic diseases and the use and linkage of health data in Switzerland.
In order to provide practical and political impulses from NRP 74, the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), together with the Conference of Cantonal Directors of Public Health (GDK), invited representatives of the cantons, as well as city and municipal associations, on May 25, 2023. The half-day event focused mainly on three workshops, each covering different topics and related NRP74 projects:
- use of health data
- promoting evidence-based care
- patient-centered care
The Swiss Learning Health System (SLHS) supported the event in terms of organization and content and, among other things, wrote the summary.
With the participation of the SLHS, the engagement of NRP 74 will be continued under the umbrella of SSPH+. More here.
